The National Front (NF) was a political party in the United Kingdom founded in by A. K. Chesterton on February 7, 1967. The party was established as a merging of the League of Empire Loyalists, led by Chesterton, and the old British National Party. John Tyndall‘s Greater Britain Movement would eventually merge with the party as well, and in 1972 Tyndall became the party’s chairman.

Tyndall left the party in 1982 to form a new British National Party (BNP), resulting in a decline of the NF and a split which emerged leading to the formation of the Flag Group and the Official National Front.
